Linen/Wool/Velvet Thermal Made To Measure Curtains Extra Huge/Long/Bay Window

Linen/Wool/Velvet Thermal Made To Measure Curtains Extra Huge/Long/Bay Window. Back by popular demand, I have now sourced fabulous choice of linens wools and crushed velvets so you can choose the fabric that best matches your decor to create the perfect curtains for you. We will use your choice of linen or wool and your choice of crushed velvet hem - the hem will measure 25 (63.5cm). We will use a 6 (15cm) pencil pleat header tape (unless you prefer a different header).

Photos show some of the available fabrics to achieve your desired look. Price on this listing applies to most of my linens HTTSL, RWTGS, SNOS (there are a few slightly more expensive linens which I will need to price individually). After you have ordered your curtains please advise me of the drop you require (see below for measuring information) and the lining you require if you have chosen the premier cotton, blackout or thermal option.

Step two - measure up using the measuring information provided within the sample pack. Step three - please ask for a quote. What width do I need? If you have not yet had a track or pole fitted, I would recommend that you measure the window and then add the amount it will extend each side.

It is recommended that it extends beyond the window by 15-30cm on each side. Slighly less gather than double fullness will still look nice and therefore there is some flexibliy in the width of the curtain you will need. See below for more information on gather. Please message me if you would like advice (I will need your track or pole width or if you only have your window width, thats fine, but please ensure you advise me that it is the window measurement you are giving me).

We can offer wider curtains and different headings - please enquire if this is of interest. Curtains will be made up in the UK by a professional seamstress. Curtains up to 90" will have a 3" pencil pleat header tape and over 90" will have a 6" pencil pleat header tape to help them hang well. I have given an appoximate measurements for the width of each curtain as we will always achieve the maximum width possible. Some linings such as the bonded interlinings are narrower than others which restricts the width we can obtain. Please check with us if you need more information. Wider curtains are avaiable, please enquire below if you need wider curtains than the drop down menu.

Ivory Polycotton 50% cotton 50% polyester - nice quality polycotton lining lowest cost and suitable for windows that do not need insulation or blackout. Premium 100% cotton sateen ivory lining (a nice qualiy heavy weight cotton lining) giving an extra quality feel to curtains thats also do not need insulation or blackout. Blackout Lining (white or cream) blocks light and has thermal properties. Thermal blocks the cold will add weight to the curtain but not thickness. Standard bonded interlining - a fleecy backed polycotton lining - which gives a blanket type feel to the curtain(s) - thermal to keep out the cold and adds weight to the curtains.

Bonded Blackout Lining - a fleecy backed blackout lining - which give a blanket type feel to the curtain(s), with added thermal properties and keeps out the light. If you are not sure please let me know: AYou would like the lowest cost lining BYou need the lining to block out drafts and the cold CYou need the lining to block out the light DYou would the lining to block the light and the cold.

The curtains in the picture are made using standard bonded interlining and a 6 pencil pleat header tape. The linen and velvet in the picture has been discontinued, however a close match is the Heavy Twill Taupe Stone Linen and the Driftwood Crushed Velvet. Curtains can be made deliberately over long for period home windows and/or to elegantly pool onto the floor. The recommended amount for pooling is between 4 and 8 inches, but we can make them to you any amount you would like.

Width - Measure the width of the track or pole - mulitply this by the amount of gather you would prefer (see below) and divide by 2 (two curtains). Curtain track measures 130" x 1.75 (mid gather) = 227.50" divide by 2 = 113.75. In this case you will need curtains approx 127 wide each. Every single pair of curtains, regardless of heading style, should have a certain amount of'gather'.

If a curtain had no'gather' it would be a completely flat piece of fabric stretched across the window when curtains are closed. The minimum gather recommended is 1.5 x pole or track width (ideal for dress curtains where they are rarely pulled shut) Mid gather is 1.75 x pole or track width Normal Gather 2 x pole or track width 2.5 x or more is a heavy gather. Length - If you have a track or know where the track will be fitted, please measure from the top of the track to where you would like the curtain hem to fall. If you have a pole please measure from the bottom of the decorative ring to where you would like the curtain hem to fall.

If you would like pooling 4-8 inches is the recommend amount (however we can do any amount you would like). Decide where your curtains will end.

Sill length = Curtains should finish 1.25cm (1/2") above the sill to prevent wear to hems Below sill = Curtains should finish 15cm (6") below the sill to block out light and draughts Floor length = Curtain should finish 1.25cm (1/2") above the floor to prevent wear to hems If there is a radiator below your window we recommend that your curtain sits 3cm (1 ½ ") above the top of it so heat can escape into your room and not rise up behind your curtains. Due to the nature of this fabric (linen or linen mix) curtains will need to be pressed prior to being hung and even then some wrinkling of the fabric is likely to remain.

100% linen also has slubs which naturally occur as part of the fabric making process. I accept payments through pay pal, postal order, bank transfer or cash on collection. All goods will be packaged carefully to ensure they arrive safely.
